Seeing as I live in a country where namazake are quite rare, when I am at breweries in Japan, I always want to try namazake if they are available. And when I was at Tanaka Shuzou, this Nama Genshu was it.
Taking a sniff of my glass, it smells fresh, with a hint of fruitiness and florality. I immediately notice, taking the first sip, the alcohol intensitive, the umami and afterwards the flavors of rice, yoghurt but also some stone fruit. This sake is quite light, easy to drink and disappears very quickly, except for the alcohol burn.
To me, this is just a solid sake. Light and heavy at the same time, it takes your tastebuds on a wild ride.
