Description

The Kita no Inaho, translated as Northern ear of rice, is the Daiginjo sake from Otokoyama brewery in Hokkaido. This is a sake I bought during my trip to the brewery.

This sake smells really fruity! I found that the sake I tried during the tasting at Otokoyama were very subtle when it came to aromas, but this sake smells extremely fruity. And those aromas translate to the flavours as well. This sake tastes green: green apple, melon, pear, but also a bit of stone fruit. Initially it is quite full, but the taste (except for the umami) soon disappears after swallowing.

This is a very neat, clean and easy to drink sake. Very enjoyable and makes me want to try more.
