The Otokoyama Kimoto Junmai sake that is actually a tokubetsu junmai sake. And since it's also made with the kimoto style of brewing, let's see what we have in store.
When opening the bottle I get immediately blasted with powerfull aromas of this sake. Taking as sip, you also get confronted with a lot of acidity, something that is very typical for a kimoto style sake. High in umami as well, this sake coats the inside of your mouth very quickly. Even with the intense flavors, it's not a hard sake to drink. Quite the opposite. The light mouthfeel and medium dryness compensate for the intense acidity. This sake otherwise has typical grainy/rice flavors you can expect from a junmai sake.
This is a sake that has a lot of impact, but I think that many people can appreciate it as well since it's very drinkable.
