Description

The regular Kikumasamune Gin pack is my favorite futshu-shu. So while visiting the Kikumasamune museum, it was obvious when I saw this variant, that I had to try it. And since it's marketed as 'Rich' as well, I wonder how it compared to the Gin.

Let's start with the difference between the Gin and the Gin Rich: the alcohol percentage and the SMV. This sake has an alcohol percentage of 17%, which is higher than the Gin (14,5%) and the SMV is lower, which means it's still dry but less so than the Gin. And yes, it shows. The fact it's a tiny bit sweeter does give it a more thicker mouthfeel, and the higher alcohol percentage compliments that. The flavor profile is very similar to the Gin, with it's fruity flavors.

Is this sake richer than the Gin? Yes! And I like this version of the Gin pack a lot as well. I hope I can get this in the Netherlands as well.
