Getting this bottle from one of my favorite sake stores, I was mostly intrigued by the small card attached to the bottle. This sake won a gold award at the International Wine Challenge in 2019. Seeing as this is a futshu-shu/normal sake, I decided to try this one out.
Mostly clear when pouring it in the glass, this sake has typical cereal/lactic aromas. Talking a sip, I notice this sake is quite crisp, with also a peppery mouth feel. Big in umami, and a pretty clean finish, this sake has flavors of rice, grain, yoghurt.
Packing a big punch, and at a very reasonable price point (here in the Netherlands at least), I would recommend it you try it if you really like cereal/lactic type sake. If you really like the more subtle, fruity sake, this might nog be to your liking.
